# Wrike MCP server

> Let Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents read and update Wrike folders, projects, tasks, request forms and approvals for capital works and facilities programmes.

Wrike is a work management platform that larger teams use to run portfolios of projects with structure: spaces, folders, projects, tasks, custom fields, request forms, approvals and blueprints. Facilities, engineering and operations departments use it for capital works programmes, site refurbishments and multi-year improvement plans. The structure helps, but it also means that answers are spread across many folders, and the people who need them are not the people who built them.

Agentic CMMS turns Wrike into an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents. Directors, engineers and site leads ask in plain language, and the agent finds the answer across the folders and projects they are allowed to use.

## What your AI agent can do with Wrike

- **See the programme.** "Which projects in the 2027 capital works folder are behind schedule, and by how many days?"
- **Check approvals.** "Which design approvals are waiting for me, and since when?"
- **Handle requests.** "Show the facilities requests that came in through the request form this week and are still unassigned."
- **Start a project from a blueprint.** "Create a project for the Bristol depot roof replacement from the site refurbishment blueprint, starting 3 March." With write access, the agent creates it.
- **Watch workload.** "Who on the project engineering team has the most tasks due in the next two weeks?"
- **Read custom fields.** "List projects where the Budget Status field is Over and the Phase field is Construction."
- **Plan a maintenance window.** "The Leeds site closes for two weeks in August. Which tasks across all projects are scheduled for that site in that window?" The agent finds work that can move into the closure.
- **Prepare a board pack.** "Summarise the status of the five largest capital projects, with milestones met, milestones missed and next steps."

## Wrike with your other systems

Wrike runs the project; other systems hold the assets, money and documents. Connect them and one question reaches across all of them:

- When a refurbishment project in Wrike finishes, check that the new equipment is in [Maintenance Connection](/integrations/maintenance-connection) with its preventive maintenance set up.
- Compare the budget field on each Wrike project with committed costs in [IFS Cloud](/integrations/ifs-cloud).
- Attach the signed handover certificate from [Box](/integrations/box) to the closing task of the project.
- Turn installation tasks for customer sites into work orders in [ServiceMax](/integrations/servicemax), with the dates from the Wrike plan.

## Structure for big programmes

When a programme has dozens of projects and several approval steps, keeping everyone informed becomes a job in itself. An agent that reads Wrike answers the routine status questions and leaves the project managers to manage. Owners and admins choose which roles may use each Wrike tool, so approvals stay with approvers, and each person approves their own agent. The activity log keeps a tamper-evident record of every call.

## Questions and answers

### Can ChatGPT see who is overloaded in Wrike?

Yes. The agent reads task assignments and dates across your Wrike projects and shows each person's workload for the period you choose.

### Can an AI agent approve items in Wrike?

It can when your owners and admins allow that tool and the approver gave their agent write access. Otherwise it only reports which approvals are pending.

### Does the agent work with Wrike custom fields and blueprints?

Yes. It reads custom field values on tasks and projects, and it can create new projects from the blueprints your team already uses.
