Agentic CMMS

Sphera MCP server

Connect Sphera to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI agents to read incidents, risk assessments, management of change and environmental compliance data.

Sphera provides environment, health, safety and sustainability software, with a strong focus on operational risk in heavy industry. Chemical plants, refineries, mines and large manufacturers use it for incident management, risk assessment, management of change, environmental compliance and product stewardship. In these industries the cost of a missed signal is high. Yet the signals are spread across many records: a near miss in one module, an overdue action in another, a change that was approved with conditions.

Agentic CMMS gives your AI agent a way to read across those records through MCP. Engineers and managers ask in Claude, ChatGPT or another agent, and the agent reads incidents, risk assessments, changes and compliance tasks with the access each person approved. With your historian and maintenance systems connected as well, one question can show risk, process and equipment data together.

What your AI agent can do with Sphera

  • Read the risk picture for a unit. "What open risks, overdue actions and recent incidents do we have for the hydrocracker?" The agent pulls them into one short brief.
  • Check management of change. "Which changes on the tank farm went live this quarter with pre-start-up actions still open?"
  • Investigate incidents. "Summarise the loss of containment last Tuesday, with the immediate causes and the actions agreed."
  • Watch environmental obligations. "Which permit conditions have monitoring or reporting due in the next 30 days?"
  • Follow up actions. "List actions from process hazard reviews that are past due, grouped by owner."
  • Record a near miss. "Log a near miss at the loading rack: a hose coupling leaked during transfer, stopped by the operator." The agent creates the event under the right location.
  • Look for weak signals. "Have we had similar near misses on any loading rack in the last year?" The agent compares descriptions, not only categories, so it finds events that were filed in different ways.

Sphera with your other systems

Operational risk lives between process, maintenance and projects. Connect those systems and the agent can link them:

  • Check whether safety-critical equipment has overdue inspections in SAP Plant Maintenance before a change is approved.
  • Bring trends from AVEVA PI System into an incident review as evidence.
  • See if a turnaround schedule in Oracle Primavera P6 includes the actions a risk review asked for.
  • Find the current P&ID or design document in Bentley ProjectWise for the equipment under review.

Risk data needs a clear trail

In high-hazard industries, every look at a safety record may matter later, for example in an investigation or a regulator's visit. Agents connected through Agentic CMMS act with the approval of one named person, owners and admins decide which roles may use each Sphera tool, and a hash-chained activity log keeps a record that regulators and internal auditors can review.

How it works

Live in minutes, not months

No integration project. Connect your system once, and everyone on your team brings their own agent.

  1. 1

    Connect your systems

Add your CMMS, ERP, accounting and other systems with their API keys. We check each one against the live system before anything is saved.

  2. 2

    Approve your agent

Each person adds the MCP address to Claude, ChatGPT or another agent and approves it with their own login. Read-only or read and write: their call.

  3. 3

    Ask in plain language

“What’s overdue on Line 3, and what will it cost?” The agent works across your systems for you, and every action is on the record.

FAQ

Sphera and AI agents: questions, answered

Can Claude review management of change records in Sphera?

Yes. The agent reads change requests with their risk reviews, approvals and open actions, so you can ask which changes went live with actions still open.

Can an AI agent link a Sphera incident to process data?

If you also connect a historian such as AVEVA PI System, the agent can pull the readings around the time of the incident and add them to the summary it gives you.

Who uses Sphera with AI agents?

Process safety engineers, EHS managers and operations leaders in chemicals, oil and gas, mining and heavy manufacturing, who need to see risk, incidents and changes together.
