# IFS Cloud MCP server

> Connect IFS Cloud to Claude and ChatGPT. Ask about work orders, serial objects, projects, service and procurement in plain language, with per-user approval.

IFS Cloud combines ERP, enterprise asset management and field service in one platform. Aerospace and defence firms, energy and utility companies, construction and engineering groups, and manufacturers choose it because they make money by building, maintaining or servicing complex assets. Finance, projects, procurement and maintenance share one data model. That makes IFS rich in answers, but the answers sit across many pages, lobbies and navigators.

With Agentic CMMS, your asset managers can simply talk to IFS Cloud through Claude, ChatGPT or another agent. A project controller or a service lead writes a question, and the agent searches IFS for them. They get the answer and the records behind it, without building a new lobby. Engineers in the field can ask from a phone, and the control room sees the same data as the finance office.

## What your AI agent can do with IFS Cloud

- **Review an asset's history.** "Show every work order on turbine T-04 in the past year, with the fault codes and hours spent."
- **Check preventive maintenance.** "Which PM actions for the substation equipment are due next month?"
- **Follow a project.** "How is the grid reinforcement project doing against budget, and which activities are late?"
- **Look up serial objects.** "Where is serial number 88-1042 installed, and when was it last overhauled?"
- **Track procurement.** "Which purchase orders for spare rotor blades are confirmed, and when do they arrive?"
- **Read inventory.** "How many spare valves do we hold across all sites, and which are reserved for work orders?"
- **Summarise service.** "How many service requests did we close for the north region last week, and how many breached their target?"
- **Report a fault.** "Report a fault on pump P-210: high vibration, found during the morning round." With write access, the agent creates the request.

## IFS Cloud with your other systems

IFS covers a lot, but rarely everything. Connect the rest, and an agent can combine them in one answer:

- Compare work orders in IFS Cloud with those in [IFS Ultimo](/integrations/ifs-ultimo) where acquired sites still use their own CMMS.
- Match field visits in [IFS Field Service Management](/integrations/ifs-field-service-management) with the asset history they changed.
- Check sensor data in [AWS IoT SiteWise](/integrations/aws-iot-sitewise) before you approve a work order for an early overhaul.
- Read the schedule of a major outage in [Oracle Primavera P6](/integrations/oracle-primavera-p6) beside the IFS work orders and materials it needs.

## For organisations that live by their assets

When the business is the asset, every question is about availability, cost and risk. The agent answers those questions from live IFS data and shows its sources. Agent approval is individual, tool rights follow the roles your admins set, and each call lands in a tamper-evident activity log.

## Questions and answers

### Can an AI agent read IFS Cloud work orders and equipment objects?

Yes. An approved agent can read work orders, equipment objects and their history, and summarise them by site, object or fault.

### Can Claude help with IFS project reporting?

Yes. Ask how a project stands against budget and schedule, and the agent compares planned, committed and actual figures for its activities.

### Can ChatGPT report a fault in IFS Cloud?

With write access and a tool your admins allow, the agent can create a fault report or work request with the details you give it.
